Warren Glee Vannaman

Warren Glee Vannaman, age 90, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in his home.

Warren was born in Cimarron, Kansas on November 7, 1931 to Ray Leroy and Evilo Docia (Warren) Vannaman. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on March 16, 1951 as a Clerk Typist and was assigned to Accounting and Finance where he served faithfully for 20 years. Warren married his wife, Verna Lamar (Davis) on May 8, 1953 and they had 5 children. After military retirement, Warren and Verna retired to Niceville, Florida in 1971. He was employed with Phelps Construction until fully retiring in January of 1995. Warren led a full and adventurous life. For over 50 years, he actively bowled in several local leagues in the Fort Walton Beach/Eglin AFB area. In February of 2002, Warren bowled his first and only 300 game. Warren was a kind hearted and generous man who never met a stranger. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. In 2018, Warren moved to Martinez, GA to be near his daughter and family.

Warren was proceeded in death by his parents, Ray Leroy and Evilo Docia Vannaman, his wife Verna Vannaman, son James Ray Vannaman, son Warren Lee Vannaman, infant daughter, step daughter Verna Carolyn (Bradley) Allen, brother Leroy Vannaman, sister Lottie Mae Sperry, and sister Maxine Knight.

Warren is survived by his daughter, Christina Carnley and husband Michael, two grandchildren Jacob Alexander and Ruth Elizabeth Carnley, all of Evans, Georgia, two sisters Wanda Ward of Garden City, Kansas, Joanne Jones of Dodge City, Kansas, one sister-in-law Dorothy Vannaman of Garden City, Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
