
USD 457 job fair planned for Saturday
Garden City Public Schools USD 457 will hold a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, in the commons area at Garden City High School, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd.

Garden City Public Schools USD 457 will hold a Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, in the commons area at Garden City High School, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd.

Several community agencies in Garden City will be distributing backpacks filled with school supplies from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, at Garfield Early Childhood Center, 121 W. Walnut St.

While students and teachers are getting ready for the start of the new school year, Garden City Public Schools USD 457 Transportation Department is also getting ready.

The last week for the USD 457 Books-on-the-Bus (B.O.B.) program will start on Monday, July 21. The last day that the bookmobile will visit the community will be Friday, July 25.

USD 457 Board of Education approved a Cardiac Emergency Response Plan at its regular meeting Monday.

Garden City Public Schools USD 457 will hold an enrollment event from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, and from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, for parents to enroll their children for the 2025-26 school year. The event will take place at Horace Good Middle School, 1412 N. Main St.
The USD 457 Summer Books-on-the-Bus program (B.O.B.) will continue to visit the community through the month of July. The last scheduled visit for this year will be Friday, July 25.
The USD 457 Virtual Academy is currently taking enrollment for students in grades seventh through 12 and adults looking to complete their high school diploma.

Garden City Public Schools USD 457 school bus driver, Jerry Guerrero, has demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism by an 11th place finish in the highly competitive 51st edition of the School Bus Driver International Safety Competition (SBDISC). The event was held on June 28-29, in Austin, Texas.
