MAIZE - There will be three players from the Garden City High School boys’ tennis team who will get to cap off their 2025 season at the Class 6A state tournament on Friday and Saturday, May 16-17, in Junction City at the Bluejay Tennis Facility.
DODGE CITY - Garden City High School’s boys’ tennis team had hoped that Friday’s strong effort in Haysville at the Campus Invitational would provide some momentum going into Monday’s Western Athletic Conference championship in Dodge City.
HAYSVILLE - The Campus Invitational in Haysville had originally been scheduled for the third week of April but inclement weather forced the postponement and it was reset for Friday, May 2.
Saturday’s scheduled Garden City High School boys’ tennis tournament was postponed due to bone-chilling temperatures, light misty and blustery wind conditions.
HUTCHINSON - When the Hutchinson Tennis Invitational came to a close on Thursday after another warm, blustery day of weather, it was a case of near-misses that created the Garden City Buffaloes’ boys’ team for a runner-up finish to rival Dodge City (Red).
GREAT BEND - It was another solid day on Saturday for the Garden City High School boys’ tennis team at the Great Bend Invitational.
SCOTT CITY – The Garden City High School’s boys’ tennis team captured second place Monday at the Scott City Invitational, finishing with 30 points behind winning team Central Plains’ 40. They were one point ahead of Western Athletic Conference defending champion Hays’ 29 points.
Having lost just two of six starters from the 2024 runner-up Western Athletic Conference team, Garden City High School boys’ tennis coach Logan Bevis is looking for the 2025 squad and season to be improved.
