SENIOR SHOWCASE: Quilts of Valor presentations honor those who have served

The Quilts of Valor Foundation is a national organization founded in 2003 by “Blue Star” mom Catherine Roberts. With a son deployed in Iraq – a gunner sitting atop a Humvee – she felt ten seconds away from panic 24-hours a day, every day. It was during that time her son was deployed that she had the idea of comforting Veterans with quilts.

SENIOR SHOWCASE: Senior Center’s ‘Do Overs’ has variety of crafts for sale

Do you know we have a Craft Mall inside the Senior Center? Our very crafty seniors, volunteer to work a few hours a week in exchange for selling their crafts. If you don’t have time to work a shift then 10 percent of your sells goes back to the Craft Mall. New items are added twice a month. If you want to find out more call us at 620-272-3620.
