National Pollinator Week is an annual event celebrated internationally in support of pollinators. This year, National Pollinator Week (NPW) will take place June 16 – 22. Pollinators are animals that move pollen from the male parts of flowers to the female parts, facilitating plant reproduction.

As the schools of USD 457 finished their classes this week, many people view this as the start of summer. The true start of summer, marked by the summer solstice, is not until June 20 this year. However, there is no need to wait to embark on summertime activities. Whether it is blowing bubbles, swimming, or games, summer is the time to be outside!
