FROM ZOO TO YOU: The rarest of the rare, in human care, can be found at zoos

One of the incredible things about working in the zoo field is that every zoo is home to its own unique assortment of species. Some of the most popular species, like lions and ring-tailed lemurs, are quite common in zoos, and can be seen in over a hundred animal care facilities across the United States. But others are much rarer, and often it is those rarer species that make a zoo unique.
