Aspects of the USD 457 Board of Education presentation on the YMCA Dome at its March 3 meeting was inaccurate.
The Garden City Commission approved revisions to the Lee Richardson Zoo Use Guidelines, which includes revisions to fees for event use, at its regular meeting on March 4.
The music students from the USD 457 middle schools competed in a musical festival on Friday, March 7, at Horace Good Middle School. The schools brought a number of groups to the competition to be rated.
The Garden City Telegram’s March 6 article regarding the Garden City Family YMCA Dome, it was incorrectly stated that Chad Knight, YMCA CEO, told Drew Thon, USD 457 Chief Human Resources Officer that “the YMCA has had financial difficulties with the Dome, particularly due to the construction issues with the Dome and subsequent lawsuit with the construction company, the legal fees in addition to electrical and flooring problems and the COVID-19 pandemic.”
