DODGE CITY - While the Garden City High School girls’ golf team finished a distant second to Class 5A powerhouse Wichita-Kapaun Mt. Carmel on Thursday at the Dodge City Invitational, their score was still easily good enough to run away with the Western Athletic Conference portion of the tournament at Mariah Hills Golf Course.

NEWTON - The Hesston Swather Special has always had a distinctively different feel to its cross country invitational each year.

When halftime arrived at Friday night’s East vs. West (i.e., Olathe Northwest at Garden City), the football game was all that the new-look Buffaloes could have asked for.

GREAT BEND - While it may not look like it on the results sheet, there was plenty of improvement to be seen by first-year coach David Snodgrass for his Garden City High School girls’ tennis team at Saturday’s Great Bend Invitational.

MAIZE - The Garden City High School boys’ soccer team continued its early season success on Tuesday night with a 2-0 victory over the Maize Eagles in another road test.

VALLEY CENTER - First-year head coach David Snodgrass certainly knew his inaugural squad for girls’ tennis would be a work in progress, with nearly the entire team having little to no varsity experience.

Tickets for the public are now available to be purchased for the 2025 Garden City High School Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The Garden City High School Student Council will be hosting a homecoming parade at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14. The parade will start on Mary Street and will continue around the loop to the football field.

MANHATTAN - When he accepted the head football coaching position at Garden City High School, Joe Price knew there would be challenges in trying to resurrect the Buffaloes program.
