
GCHS girls’ swimming takes eighth at Maize Invite
MAIZE - The Maize High Girls’ Swimming Invitational proved every bit as difficult as Garden City High School girls’ Coach Jennifer Meng had expected.

If it were to become a song written by Garden City High School senior golfer Maddix Shook, it might be called, “Sweet Home Buffalo Dunes.”

When the Garden City High School softball team dropped a 5-0 contest on Tuesday at Great Bend, GCHS head coach Trina Mai believed she could get her team to bounce back two days later in a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader at John Ford Field at Tangeman Sports Complex.

Saturday’s scheduled Garden City High School boys’ tennis tournament was postponed due to bone-chilling temperatures, light misty and blustery wind conditions.

DERBY - There is no doubt that playing golf in Kansas in the spring requires golfers at every level to learn how to play in windy conditions, and varying temperatures.
