Ulysses’ Moyer leads area golfers at Goodland

Several area girls’ golf teams traveled to Goodland on Thursday to compete in a high school golf invitational.

Jyntri Moyer of Ulysses claimed the top finish for an area golfer, finishing in fourth place. The Tiger shot a 54 on the front nine and a 45 on the back for a 99.

Area top 10 finishers and their scores include: Syracuse’s Hannah Lampers, sixth place, 50, 51 - 101; Gillan Heger of Hugoton, seventh place, with a 52, 50 - 102; Lakin’s Brianna Woodrow finished in eighth with a 50,53 - 103; and Cimarron’s Morgan Henkelman placed 10th with a 52, 51 - 103.

Other competitors and their scores, by school, were:

Cimarron: Brayclen Lynn, 105, 12th place; Kennedy Jarrigan, 110; Jenna Seabolt, 114; and Brielle Lynn, 120.

Hugoton: Danica Amein, 108, 15th place; Moriah Leslie, 115; and Grace Gibson, 124.

Lakin: Allyssa Mead, 111; Valeria Gonzalez, 113; and Gabriella Brudiaga, 149.

Scott City: Olivia Wagner, 106, 13th place; Paige Prewit, 107, 14th place; Brylie Bennett, 116; Tori Ford, 120; Hannah Faurot, 125; and Judy Wiebe, 129.

Syracuse: Charity Maune, 113.

Ulysses: Jacklyn Wolf, 104, 11th place; Colsie Metcalf, 123; and Betty Jo McNett, 150.

Colby’s Anna Starbuck won the individual title, shooting a 43 on the front nine and 47 on the back for a 90.

In the team competition, Colby claimed the title with a 395. Goodland finished second with a 431 and Cimarron placed third with a 432.
