Syracuse hosted Stanton County Friday and the Bulldogs defense stifled the Trojans and held them out of the end zone for the game while the Syracuse offense racked up the points in a 27-0 win.

The Bulldogs started their scoring with 4:32 left in the first quarter as Kolby Brummett scampered 47 yards for a touchdown. The point after attempt by Brandon Pinto was good. Brummett scored again in the first at the 1:45 mark, this time on a 10-yard touchdown run. Pinto kicked the point after to give Syracuse a 14-0 lead.

That scored stayed until the fourth quarter, as neither team could reach the end zone. The Bulldogs’ offense woke up in the fourth scoring two touchdowns to seal the game.

At the 6:33 mark, Jay Gould ran for a 46 yard touchdown. The point after attempt was no good. The Syracuse’s scoring in the game concluded with a pass from Gould to Joe Mitchell for 20-yards, then Mitchell completed the play, running the ball 35-yards for the touchdown. Pinto kicked the point after.

Brummet finished the game with 145 yards and Gould had 83 yards to lead the Bulldogs.

Syracuse will travel to Hays on Friday to face Thomas More Prep. Stanton County will host Sedgwick.
