According to a statement posted on its Facebook page, the Finney County Sheriff’s office is extending the time frame it will be closed to the public walk-in traffic until Oct. 19.

The post states several staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently quarantining at their homes. The jail, with at least one case reported, is still functioning and patrol units and all other areas of the department are operating as usual.

The Finney County Health Department and Kansas Department of Health and Environment are monitoring the situation and the department is following those recommendations.
