Moscow High School’s football squad routed Deerfield Thursday in a home 6-man game, 68-0. The contest lasted only two quarters due to the scoring mercy rule.
The Wildcats exploded for 41 points in the first quarter on six touchdowns.
Adan Granillo got the scoring started at the 9:30 mark with a 44-yards punt return for a touchdown. Edwin Rojo ran in the point after attempt for a 7-0 lead. Moscow never looked back.
Trenton Kennedy had a 17-yard run into the end zone with 7:44 left, with Isaac Clifft ruling in the point after. Ryan Penrod returned an interception 18-yards for a touchdown at the 6:48 mark. Granillo ran in the point after attempt. Granillo scampered for his second touchdown with 4:07 in the quarter, this time for 33-yards. The run attempt failed.
Penrod grabbed his second touchdown, with 3:10 left, off a 37-yards punt return. Gerardo Garcia ran in the point after attempt. Jose Moran got on the board with 20 seconds left in the quarter on a 35-yards punt return. Rojo ran in the point after attempt to give the Wildcats a 41-0 lead after a quarter.
Moscow slowed the pace somewhat, only scoring four touchdowns in the second quarter.
Angel Granados scored on a 13-yard run with 8:54 left in the quarter. Clifft ran in the point after. Granillo recorded his third touchdown of the game at the 6:51 mark, scoring on a 22-yard run. Garcia ran in the point after. Clifft sprinted 65-yards for a touchdown with 4:17 left. Garcia ran in the point after.
In the final score of the game, with two seconds left in the half, Zayden Dorsey ran 20 yards for a touchdown to give the Wildcats a 68-0 lead. The point after kick was blocked.
