The Garden City Broncbuster softball team was rolled by Seward County in a twin bill in Liberal on Saturday.

The host Saints won a pair of run-rule shortened, five-inning games, winning 9-0 and 9-1. Garden City dropped to13-17 overall and 6-12 in the KJCCC West. Seward County improved, at the time, to 8-6 and 12-23. The Saints played Dodge City on Sunday, as well.

Seward starter Jordan Cordery allowed just one hit and two walks in the day’s opener, striking out four. Ariel Denney, the Busters’ starter, last just three innings, giving up 10 hits, two walks and nine runs — eight earned.

In the nightcap, Alyssah Pantoja allowed just four hits and one run in her complete game win for the Saints. Buster pitchers, Brittany Dowell and Madison Biller, combined to go 4 ⅔ innings, but each game up six hits, with Dowell allowing seven runs — just two earned.

The two teams meet again at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in Garden City.
