Spearville 42, Hodgeman County 34

Behind junior Ehlaina Hartman’s game-high 20 points, the Spearville Lancers did enough to hold off the Hodgeman County Longhorns, winning 42-34 Friday night in Jetmore. The win advanced the Lancers to the sub-state championship.

Spearville took control of the game early on, holding the Longhorns to only six points in the first two quarters of the game, and then only four in the third. While Hodgeman County outscored the Lancers 18-11 in the fourth, Spearville did enough early on to secure the win, and advanced to take on Ingalls.

Ingalls 59, Kinsley 46

The Ingalls Bulldogs took care of business, hitting seven three pointers to advance to the sub-state championship game, defeating the Kinsley Coyotes, 59-46, Thursday night in Jetmore.

It was a back-and-forth affair in the first half as the Bulldogs took a slight 26-22 lead into halftime. After the halftime break, the Bulldogs exploded to a 21-point third quarter, giving them enough room to separate themselves from the Coyotes.

Ingalls had three in double figures, which included sophomore Regan Ast, who hit five of the seven Ingalls three-pointers. Sophomore Ashlyn Cure finished with a game-high 23 points, 18 of which came in the second half.

The Bulldogs are a game away from state, but the Spearville Lancers are standing in the way. Tip off is scheduled at 6 p.m., Saturday night in Jetmore.

South Gray regional

South Gray 73, Moscow 15

The South Gray Rebels demolished the Moscow Wildcats, hitting on 12 three-pointers on their way to a 73-15 win over the Wildcats in the sub-state semifinal Thursday night in Montezuma.

It wasn't much of a game from the opening tip off, as the Rebels held the Wildcats to four first-quarter points.

Junior Christy Wiebe led all scorers with 21 points, nine of which came from behind the arc.

The Rebels will now face the Minneola Wildcats for the berth to the state tournament on the line. Tip off is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday in Montezuma.

South Gray 84, Fowler 36

The South Gray Rebels made easy work of the Fowler Goldbugs, 84-36 Friday night in Montezuma.

The Rebels scored 16 points in the first quarter and then 33 in the second quarter to take a 49-19 lead into halftime.

The Rebels' Clifton Miller finished with 29 points and Austin Jantz had 24 points.

South Gray will now look to advance to the state title game, as they play in the sub-state championship game at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
