Here we go again
A recent TV ad sponsored by One Nation, a conservative advocacy group is attempting to scare the American people about Medicare for All.
One Nation is an organization that is funded by and for wealthy donor's interests, which don't coincide with the majority of Americans who can't afford healthcare. One of their primary assertions is the cost, 32 trillion over 10 years was the their projection. I find this tactic interesting since our healthcare is the most expensive in the world. We spend over $11,000 per person per year not even covering everyone. All the major countries with single payer systems spend half that, have excellent care and cover everybody. Isn't that what we want?
Every person in this country should HAVE health care not just HAVE ACCESS to health care. What good is it to have access to health care if you can't afford it?
We are a capitalist country. Having a single payer system won't make us socialist. All those Republicans and Democrats who say it will are catering to all those corporate and wealthy donors to their campaigns. They were elected to do what's in the best interests of all of us, not their donors. They are public servants after all.
