OVERLAND PARK - Linda B. Berry, age 69, died March 17, 2021, after a courageous three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Linda was born Aug. 8, 1951, in Scott City, KS, to Cecil and Muriel Lawrence and grew up on a farm between Dighton and Scott City. She graduated from Northwest Kansas Area Vocational Technical School in Goodland, KS, where she studied cosmetology.
After her first marriage, Linda married the love of her life, Darrol Berry, on April 4, 1980. While in Goodland, she worked as a hairdresser and pharmacy tech. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early 2018, Linda and Darrol relocated to Overland Park to be closer to their daughters and pursue cancer treatment.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 41 years, Darrol Berry; her three daughters: April Hansen of Overland Park, KS; Cindy Fecht; and Samantha Torrez, both of Olathe, KS; a sister, Peggy Rombough of Andover, KS; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Muriel (Gunther) Lawrence
Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. March 24, 2021 at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Dighton Memorial Cemetery in Dighton, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the University of Kansas Cancer Center’s Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association both in care of Boomhower Funeral Home.
