YUKON, OK - Max Davis (71) of Yukon, OK, left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Feb. 22, 2021. He was born on Jan. 27, 1950 in Pratt KS., to Thayne and Charity Davis. He was raised in the Lakin/Garden City, KS, areas where he farmed until he moved to Oklahoma City, OK.
He enjoyed playing on his high school baseball team and started an extensive baseball card collection. He then worked in the insurance industry for several years, most of them alongside his parents, then moved into the construction industry until he retired in 2015. He loved being a husband to Elizabeth for 37 years and a father to his children. He really enjoyed being a grandfather too. We will remember his ornery smile and the joking he so liked to do. We will always appreciate the effort he made to try and include extended family when his children came to visit and the opportunities it created to build relationships. He blessed his family for 71 years with many memories. We are very thankful for having Max in our lives and for the memories we made with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thayne and Charity Davis; brother, Ted Davis; and daughter, Shonda Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Davis; brother, Jerry (Dana) Davis; sister, Avonda Childers; two daughters and spouses, Megan (Garrett) Speer and Reigan (Darrin) McGraw of Garden City, KS; and four sons, Gerrett (Krisha) Inboden of Midlothian, Texas, Thomas Graves of Oklahoma City, OK, Billy (Angie) Johnson and Eric Johnson of Wynnewood OK; 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Pastor Lloyd Christensen for the spiritual comfort and kindness given during this delicate time. The family would also like to thank our friends for their many expressions of thoughtfulness and love. We thank all the doctors and nurses that cared for Max. Memorial services will be held at McNeil’s Funeral Home in Mustang, OK, Friday March 26, 2021 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donate to the American Cancer Society.
