SUBLETTE - Marilyn McIver, 81, died Feb. 21, 2021 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, KS. She was born on June 26, 1939 in Stratton, NE, the daughter of Clyde and Mabel (Wickicer) Dunham. As a child, Marilyn lived near Juanita, NE, and attended school there. She later moved to Satanta, KS, to help her brother. While working at the cafe, she met George McIver. The two were married on July 2, 1960 in Satanta, KS. The newly married couple made their home on a farm north of Satanta. Marilyn cleaned houses and babysat for various families in Sublette, KS. In 2004, Marilyn made the move to Garden City, KS.
Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Jeanette K. McPherson and Clara S. Walker all of Garden City, KS; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, George; a daughter, Sarah McIver; her parents; and two brothers, Lyle and Joe Dunham.
Funeral service will be held at Cornerstone Church in Garden City, KS, on Feb. 26, 2021 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette, KS. Visitation will be at the church on Feb. 26, 2021 from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials are suggested to Cornerstone Church in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, PO Box 607, Sublette, KS. 67867.
