SCOTT CITY - Phillip W. Yost, age 68, died on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021 at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, KS. He was born on Sept. 30, 1952, in Dodge City, KS, the son of Walter L. and Sylvia M. Schmidt Yost. A lifetime resident of Scott City, KS, he worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 26 years before retiring.
In 1984, he married Ruth Clark in Leoti, KS. Then, in the early 1990s, he met his life partner, Pam Babcock. She passed away on Sept. 24, 2019 in Hays, KS.
Survivors include his son, Cody and Aubrey Yost of Scott City, KS; one sister, Charlotte and Bob Mininger of Hardinsburg, IN; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; life partner, Pam Babcock; and one sister, Sharon Hughes.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, KS. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, KS, with Charles Nightengale presiding. Services will be streamed live on Facebook at Price and Sons Funeral Home page (www.facebook.com/priceandsons) starting at 1:55 p.m. Interment will be in the Scott Mennonite Church Cemetery in Pence, KS.
