SANTA ROSA BEACH, FLA - Nancy Lee Leatherman Batchman, 79 years old, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla, died at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021. Nancy was born to Sara Winget Leatherman and Lee Leatherman on Feb. 18, 1941 in Garden City, Kansas. Nancy married the love of her life, Theodore “Ted” Batchman. She attended Garden City High School, Kansas University and Kansas City Business College. Nancy was a member of Good News United Methodist Church, Santa Rosa Beach, FL and served on the Administrative Board.
Nancy was a past president of the Assistance League in Reno/Sparks, Nevada and was a member of the AL National Committee. She was also a member of PEO, Assistance League in Norman, Oklahoma, Bell Choir in Charlottesville, Virginia, and Norman, Oklahoma, and chaired several church committees.
Over the years, Nancy had the pleasure of living in multiple places including, Lawrence, KS, Grand Prairie, Texas, Brisbane, QLD, Australia, Charlottesville, VA, Norman, OK, Reno, Nevada and finally, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. Her hobbies included music, sewing, reading and needlework.
Nancy is survived by Theodore “Ted’ Batchman of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla; children, Teddie Federici (Paul), Timothy Batchman (Karen), Tracey Wolff (Keith); grandsons, Noah Federici, Alex Speed and Andrew Speed; cousins, Cindy Pearce, Terry Heggy, and Pat Heggy. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Nicholas Federici.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021 at 2:30 pm, Good News United Methodist Church, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.
