WALLACE - Roland “Ron” R. Murphy, age 82, died Jan. 30, 2021, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City, KS. He was born on July 12, 1938, in Ford, KS, the son of Arthur and Ella Clark Murphy. Ron was a resident of Scott City from 1968 until moving to Wallace, KS, in 2016. He was a mechanic, was owner of Ron’s Service.
On April 4, 1959, he married Avis Robbins in Dodge City, KS. She passed away on Dec. 5, 2010 in Garden City, KS.
Survivors include his daughter, Ronda Brown of Haviland, KS; son, K.B. Murphy of Wallace, KS; brother, Francis Murphy of Callahan, CA; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Naomi Riegel; and two brothers, Don Keyes and Dean Keyes.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 4, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Scott City, KS. Services will be streamed live on Facebook at Price and Sons Funeral Home page (www.facebook.com/priceandsons) starting at 1:55 p.m. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, KS. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Roland Murphy Memorial Fund in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, KS, 67871. Visitation will be from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, KS.
