MONTEZUMA - David W. Foskuhl, 67, died Jan. 26, 2021 at Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City, KS. He was born on June 7, 1953 in Dodge City, KS, the son of John E. and Ruth (Gaskill) Foskuhl, Sr. He completed the police academy in 1982. He was a Gray County deputy for 23 years. On Nov. 1, 1991, he married Candace McGrew.
Dave is survived by his wife, Candace of Montezuma, KS; children, June Malin of Newton, KS, Michael Foskuhl of Plattville, CO, Richard Foskhul of Montezuma, KS, Alicia Sader of Lawrence, KS, Adrian Vogel of Kansas City, Adam Vogel of Tampa, FL, and Devin Werner of Cimarron, KS; two sisters, Renee Lantz of Dodge City, KS and Judy Leimkuhler of Kansas City; a brother, Jerome Foskuhl of Ensign, KS; 11 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, David John Foskuhl and Jody Strother; and a brother, John Foskuhl.
Book signing will be on Jan. 29, 2021 at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Montezuma. A family memorial service will be held on Jan. 29, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. Family and friends may watch the service on a live stream via Swaim Funeral Chapel's Facebook page. Burial will be at a later date. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Crooked Creek Golf Course or USD 371 in care of the funeral home.
