FT. DODGE – Larry Don Nusz, age 75, died Jan. 22, 2021 at Kansas Soldiers Home at Ft. Dodge, KS. He was born on Jan. 12, 1946 at Fairview, OK, the son of Leo and Leona (Eck) Nusz.
He enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends every morning at the coffee shop. Mr. Nusz enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his family in his spare time. He worked with area farmers to help them with working cattle and daily chores around their farms. Mr. Nusz also worked for Max Jantz Excavating as a heavy equipment operator for several years before retiring. He also served his country in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his siblings, Patricia and husband Nelson Jantz of Montezuma, KS; LeVonna and husband Jerry Koehn of Almena, WI; Virginia and husband David Schmidt of Montezuma, KS; David and wife Rosie Nusz of Olathe, CO; Les Nusz and wife Crystal of Galena, MO; Delinda and husband Mark Lanners of Cimarron, KS; Delbert and wife Lorraine Nusz of Ingalls, KS. He is also survived by an aunt, Katherine Schmidt of Montezuma, KS; as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Nusz; and one sister, Cynthia; as well as two nieces, Riki Warner and Rosalie Koehn.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at 10 a.m. with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Ft. Dodge, KS, with full military honors. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Montezuma, KS, on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. .Memorials are suggested to Kansas Soldiers Home Activity Fund in care of the funeral home.
