Roger Earl Lynch passed away on Jan. 21, 2021 at his home in rural Stevens County, KS, surrounded by his family. He battled cancer for over 18 years. Roger was born in Garden City, KS, on Aug. 20, 1947, to Cecil Earl and Dorothy Virginia (Stapleton) Lynch. He was raised on the family farm south of Hugoton, KS.
On June 11, 1966, Roger married Kay Ramey. They later divorced. Roger and Judy Ann Williamson were married on Aug. 28, 1976, at the First Baptist Church in Rolla, KS. They made their home on the family farm south of Hugoton, KS.
He taught school for many years both as a teacher and then as a substitute in both Liberal and Hugoton school districts.
Roger is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Lynch, of the home; son, Robert Lynch and wife Heather, of Apex, NC; daughters, JoHanna Goetzinger, of Hugoton, KS, and Sheena Schmutz and husband Jason of Derby, KS; six grandchildren; sister, Janet Sutton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gary Dean Lynch.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Hugoton Baptist Church, Hugoton, KS. Burial will follow at Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton, KS. Friends may call Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Robson Funeral Home. Family will receive friends and family from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.
