Carrie Frances “Lee" Haas, 58, Holcomb, KS, departed this world on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin, KS. She was born Jan. 10, 1962 in Vernon, Texas, to E. M. “Shorty” and Mary Winter Lee. She moved to Garden City, KS, in 1966 at the age of 4 and has been a resident of Finney County ever since. She graduated from Garden City High School in 1980. She married Mark Herrell on April 24, 1982 in Garden City, KS. She later married Ron Haas on Oct. 30, 1993 in Garden City, KS. Throughout her life, Carrie worked at various restaurants in Garden City, the YMCA, and the Emmaus House. She enjoyed bowling, helping out in the 4H and Open Class Flower Department at the Finney County Fair, and watching sports, as she was a lifetime fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

She also loved traveling around southwest Kansas and Colorado with her husband, Ron, going to car shows for the Emmaus House. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Holcomb, KS.

Carrie loved going to thrift stores and yard sales to try find a good bargain. If anyone needed anything or if she saw anything that she believed that someone could use, she would gladly pick it up for them.

Survivors include her husband, Ron of the home; three sons, Tim Herrell of Garden City, KS, Frankie Herrell of Garden City, KS, and Willie Haas of the home. Her mother, Mary Lee of Garden City, KS; one brother, Bob Lee and wife Jo, of Chanute, KS; and four grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, E.M. Lee; sisters, Linda Unruh and LaDonna Lee; brothers, Ernest Dunn and Ray Lee; and two infant sons, Christopher David and Paul Richard.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 403 Emmanuel Drive in Holcomb, KS, with Pastor Jon Sanders presiding. Services will be live streamed on the First Baptist Church of Holcomb Facebook page starting at 2:25 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Carrie Haas Memorial Fund in care of the First Baptist Church of Holcomb 403 Emmanuel Drive, Holcomb, KS. 67851.
