Gloria Ann (McVey) LeFort, the fabulous wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and community member passed on to meet with her husband. She went home in jubilation on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020. This classy woman was born April 28, 1942 to her fabulous parents, Elmer George and Beulah Mae (Gatlin) McVey in Lakin, KS - shaking up the entire community with her gorgeous red hair and beautiful, sparkling blue eyes.
She attended Lakin High School and later graduated from Garden City Community College with accolades and amazing grades.
Gloria Ann enjoyed keeping the family together with phone calls, helping community members, singing and dancing to gospel hymns-especially Elvis, praising her Lord, and helping those in need. Her work as a low vision specialist at Fry Eye Care kept her young and vibrant, always caring and compassionate in her work with clients. Her daily texts of scripture will be fondly remembered and forever present in our lives.
She enjoyed watching sports, listening to her favorite hymns, singing at the top of her lungs, and attending Word of Life Church in Garden City, KS. She especially felt blessed to be able to view service online during the Covid Pandemic.
Gloria Ann is survived by her mother, Beulah McVey of Glasgow, KS; her children Michelle LeFort of Salina KS and Gregory LeFort and his wife Lisa of Prescott AZ; sister, Karla and Wade of Miltonvale, KS; brothers, Dennis and Naomi of Dodge City, KS., Jerry of Lawrence, KS, and Terry and Mickey of Dallas Texas; her granddaughters, Jalynn LeFort of Salina KS and Cheyann Hayward of Chino AZ, and great granddaughter Shaylah Sakura Ann Copeland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leon LeFort; her son, Jeffrey Wayne LeFort; her father, Elmer; and siblings Sherry and Alan.
The service will be a graveside service-celebration of life at Valley View Cemetery on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. Cards may be sent in care of Gloria LeFort Memorial 430 W Crawford Street, Salina KS 67401
