LEOTI - Dan Nickelson, age 83, died Nov. 11, 2020 at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, KS. He was born on April 15, 1937 on the family farm in rural Graham County, the son of George and Emma Nickelson. Dan graduated from Morland High School in Morland, KS in 1956. He enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany. Dan met and married Twilla Clark. They settled in Wichita County, KS living north of Leoti until buying the current farm in south east Wichita County, KS.
Survivors include his wife Twilla; sons, Mike Nickelson of Leoti, KS, Allen Nickelson of Penokee, KS; daughters Teresa Clark of Leoti, KS, Karen Carr of Junction City, KS; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one sister Lottie McLemore of Colby, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emma Nickelson; his sister, Eleanor Legere; his brother, Orville Nickelson; and one grandson.
Services will be held on Nov. 16, 2020 at 2 p.m. and the United Methodist Church in Leoti, KS. Burial will be in the Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, KS. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Wichita County Amusement Association in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday.
