MONTEZUMA - Mary Ann Nightingale, age 84, died Nov. 6, 2020, following a short illness with COVID-19. She was born to David and Matilda (Becker) Koehn in McPherson County, KS, on Dec. 7, 1935. She attended school at South Diamond School. She worked for 41 years at Mercy Hospital, Moundridge, KS. On Dec. 16, 2001 Mary Ann was joined in marriage to John Nightingale. With this union she became a Minister’s wife, mother and grandmother. They made their home at Dalhart, Texas.
Survivors include her husband, John of Montezuma; children, Evelyn and Verle Koehn of Princeton, ID, David and Judy Nightingale of New Plymouth, ID, Carol Nightingale and Grace Nightingale, both of Montezuma, KS; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Weldon Koehn of Leland, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held at Salem Mennonite Church, Copeland, KS, on Nov. 16, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Private burial will be at Plainview Mennonite Cemetery in Chickasha, OK. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma, KS on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Home in care of the funeral home.
