ULYSSES - Carol Louise Lyle, age 82, died on Oct. 26, 2020, while residing at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, KS. She was born on Oct. 22, 1938, the daughter of Leslie and Opal (Strode) Walker of Weskan, KS. She graduated from Weskan High School in 1956. During her senior year in high school, Carol met Ewing Lyle of Ulysses, KS, they married on June 16, 1957.
Surviving family include Penny and Joe Pucket of Independence, MO, Dan Lyle and Rhonda Stadel of Westmoreland, KS, Lyn and Darren Day of Liberal, KS, Ralph Richter of Ulysses, KS, and Diane Dugan of Roy, WA; 21 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; Paul Slaven of Dodge City, KS, Fran Reiss and Judy and Don Okeson of Weskan, KS, many nieces and nephews, and Carol’s special friend, Sy Hileman of Ulysses, KS. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; Lorine Ansel and Doris Slaven; and two children; Kevin and Joan.
Funeral services will take place at the First Baptist Church of Ulysses, KS, on Nov. 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at the Ulysses Cemetery immediately following the service. If attending in person, the family requests for you to follow the COVID guidelines for Grant County by wearing a mask, social distancing as much as possible, please refrain from attending if you have been exposed or are feeling sick. For those that would like to attend but can't be there in person, both services will be streamed on the Ulysses First Baptist Church Facebook page.
