Lois Evelyn Whaler, 80, died Wednesday Oct. 7, 2020 at her home in Garden City, KS. She was born Aug. 23, 1940 in Horrace, KS., the daughter of Leonard and Marie (LeMaster) Wallace.
She attended school in Tribune until she met her husband, Levi. They were married July 15, 1956 in Holly, CO. After marriage, they moved to Oregon for a short time, then to Sublette, KS where they settled and raised their children. She moved to Garden City, KS in 2009.
Survivors include children, Kelly Birney (Scott) of Garden City, KS, Peggy Eubanks (Stan) of Overland Park, KS, Sherri Rome (Randy Henry) of Syracuse, KS, Dee Lamb (Curtis) of Garden City, KS, Rick Whaler (Julie) of South Carolina, Stacy Whaler (Karmin) of Sublette, KS, Tracy Whaler (Jalane) of Sublette, KS; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Levi Whaler; daughter- Beverly; and four siblings- Ira, Eva, Laura, and Lawrence.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2020 at the Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette, KS with Mickey Birney officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. Seventh St., Garden City, KS 67846.
