HAYS - Andy Alonzo Padilla, age 47, of Hays, KS, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, at Hays Medical Center in Hays, KS. He was born Jan. 22, 1973, in Ulysses, KS, the son of Elvia Padilla.
Andy grew up in Ulysses and graduated from Ulysses High School in 1991. After graduation, he served in the United States Army as a Sergeant, and then transferred to the Army National Guard. Andy worked for FDIC as a Bank Examiner in Hays.
Andy is survived by his mother, Elvia “Becky” Padilla of Ulysses, KS; sister, Candy Padilla and husband, Manuel Aguilar, of Van Buren, ARK; and niece and nephew, Jasmine Medina and Luis Aguilar.
Andy is preceded in death by his grandparents; three uncles; and three cousins.
Vigil and Rosary service will be Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at 7 p.m. and Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, at 10 a.m., both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, KS., with Reverend Aneesh Parappanattu, MSFS officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, KS. Arrangements are in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS. 67880.
