HOLCOMB - Everett David “Whitey” Baier, 56, died Sept. 8, 2020 at his home in Holcomb, KS. He was born March 18, 1964 in Garden City, KS., the son of David Phillip & Marcella (Heili) Baier.
Whitey has been a lifetime resident of Holcomb and Deerfield, KS. He attended school in both Holcomb and Deerfield, and graduated from Deerfield High School in 1982. Whitey has worked most of his life as a farm hand. On Jan. 18, 1997, he married Melissa Pelnar in Garden City. He was a member of the Deerfield Brotherhood and served as a volunteer firemen in Deerfield.
Survivors include three children Jenna Pelnar-Baier of Garden City, KS, Janessa Burns of Lakin, KS, and Landon Baier of Holcomb, KS; his mother Marcella Baier of Deerfield, KS; two brothers Terry Baier and Jeff Baier both of Deerfield, KS; two grandchildren Brekalyn Burns and Paisley Burns; a niece Linzie Vanatta; and a nephew Brandon Baier. Whitey is preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 12, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
