INGALLS - Steve Rowan, 61, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020 in Hodgeman County. He was born December 6, 1958 at Garden City, the son of Fred L. and Dorothy Joan (Volkel) Rowan.
He was a lifetime area resident and a 1976 graduate of Ingalls High School. He received his Associates Degree from Garden City Community College. He was a farmer and crop adjuster for RCIS. He had many roles in Gray County 4-H, served on the Gray County Fair Board, Gray County Extension Board and the Farm Management Executive Board. He lived to farm, loved to hunt with family and friends, and enjoyed adventures in the mountains in his RZR.
On June 2, 1979, he married Valerie Rosel at the Methodist Church in Hugoton, KS.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Valerie; their son, Justin, Larned, KS.; two brothers, Harry, Ingalls, KS. and John, Pitkin, CO.; and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020 at the Gray County Fair Grounds Rec Building, with Pastor Alvin Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cimarron Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be Monday, Sept. 7, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Cimarron, KS.
