COPELAND - Donald Irwin Schwab, age 81, died August 18, 2020 near Copeland, KS. He was born on September 28, 1938 to Adena Faye (Irwin) and Donald L. Schwab in Shattuck, OK. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1961. He married Penney VonTungeln on March 17, 1962 at First United Methodist Church in Calumet, OK. Don served two years active duty with the U.S. Army, and four years in the U.S. Army Reserve. In 1969 Don and Penney moved to Kansas to raise their family and begin farming.
He is survived by his wife Penney of the home; sons, Patrick Schwab of Garden City KS, Michael Schwab of Fort Collins, CO; a daughter, Rebecca Clancy of Salina, KS; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Karen Wehba-Harmon of Aledo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. August 22, 2020 at Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory. The Schwab family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Graveside Service will be 10 a.m. on August 22, 2020 at the Copeland Cemetery. Social distancing and masks are welcomed at the visitation and service.
