Kay Beth Allen, 78, died on August 18, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, KS. She was born on May 31, 1942 at Kellyville, OK the daughter of Ralph “Brown” & Verla Daryl (Staiger) Begley. She married Jim Allen on September 7, 1963 at Hobbs, NM.
Kay Beth attended school in Kellyville, OK and then moved to Hobbs, NM and graduated from Hobbs High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK. She and her husband moved to Hugoton, KS., where she taught second and third grades for six years. In 2013 they moved to Garden City.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Allen; daughters, Kimberly and Justin Shaddix and Kristi and Steve Nordby both of Garden City, KS; brother, Jim and Judy Begley of Atwood, KS; and four grandchildren, Abbi and Cody Worden, Shea Nordby, Raegan Nordby and Mason Shaddix; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jack Begley and two sisters, Glendora Jaco and Vida Chambers.
Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, KS., with the service on the Garnand Funeral Home’s Facebook Live.
