JOHNSON CITY - Richard “Dick” Winger, age 85, died August 3, 2020, at his home. He was born January 9, 1935, in Syracuse, KS, the son of Charles and DeEtta (Moore) Winger. Dick grew up on a farm in Stanton County. He received his bachelor degree in Animal Husbandry and Agronomy from Panhandle State University. Dick married Marie Collings on June 6, 1954, in Johnson. Dick farmed with his father.
Dick is survived by his wife, Marie of their home; sons, Jeff Winger of Starkville, MS, and Mark Winger of Colby, KS; daughters, Melodie Casey of Johnson City, KS, Kim Tucker of Johnson City, KS, and Susan Johnson of Garden City, KS; sisters, June Glantz of Clarkston, WA, and Helen Dale of Protection, KS; 19 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Dick is preceded in death by his parents; Charles and DeEtta Winger; son, Stacey Winger; sister, Mary Eleanor Winger; and brothers, Dale Winger and Tom Winger.
Funeral services will be August 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson City, KS. Funeral service may also be viewed on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson City, KS. Visitation will be August 6, 2020, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with family present from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson City, KS.
