She enjoyed her garden. There was always plenty of strawberries for everyone. Clara, the grand and great-grandchildren would enter her vegetables, flowers, and crafts in the county fair and would receive multiple ribbons.

As a young married couple, Edward and Clara moved to the Finney County area where they farmed for 14 years and started their family. The family then moved to Sublette, where they operated Stoppel Equipment for 25 years, during this time they traveled abroad multiple times. She was the bookkeeper at Stoppel Equipment, The Blossom Boutique, and finally the Pride of Life in Sublette. Edward and Clara enjoyed the senior dancing circuit in southwest Kansas, reuniting with old friends and making many new ones. Edward and Clara were married for 61 years.

There was always a bible in the living room. She had a listening ear and a comforting heart. Clara's cherished moments were in the kitchen and around the dinning room table with her family and friends.
