Robert J. Salinas
Garden City - Robert J. Salinas, age 66, of Garden City, Kansas passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021. Robert was born October 6, 1954 to Esteban and Josephine (Robles) Salinas.
Robert (Bobby) was owner operator of Salinas Trucking also a licensed heavy equipment operator. His trucking took him all over the United States. He enjoyed the scenery and telling stories of his adventures in his humorous choice of words. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Robert (Bobby) passed from complications of diabetes. Bobby put up a good fight and he was a trooper. He had a charismatic smile, was a generous, caring man with a heart of gold. He was loved by all family an many friends.
He will be missed by all. "Keep on truckin" "Git Er Done"
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include 4 siblings Gerry Salinas, Fred Salinas, Steve Salinas and Pat Martinez; 6 nieces Natalie Martinez, Justine Martinez, Gianna Rodriguez, Camila Salinas, Abigail Salinas, and Katie Salinas; 8 nephews Austin Salinas, Blake Salinas, Garrett Rodriguez, Steven Salinas III, Julian Salinas, Mason Salinas, Brandon Lopez and Jasper Salinas and many cousins, relatives and friends.
Special Thank you to all the staff at LakePoint of Wichita for the care given to our brother. Special Thank you also to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center at Via Christi St. Francis given to our family through this very difficult time.
In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation or American Heart Association In honor of Robert J. Salinas.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, July, 1, 2021 from 5pm-7pm and Recitation of the rosary at 7pm both held at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 615 JC street, Garden City, Kansas 67846. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 2, 2021 at 10am at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 615 JC street, Garden City, Kansas 67846, Interment following Mass at Valley View Cemetery.
