Robert Lee Crump
Robert (Bob) Crump, 88, passed away on Monday, May 10th at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel, Indiana.
He was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on February 9th, 1933, the son of William Crump and Kathryn (Crandall) Crump. Bob attended school in Hutchinson until the family moved in 1944 to the family farm north of Lakin, KS. He graduated from Lakin High School in 1951 and then earned his undergraduate degree from Kansas University. By many family and friends he was affectionately known as Mack.
Bob was employed most of his life in the information technology field. After college graduation he went to work for the National Security Agency and later on RCA, C3, Coopers & Lybrand, and then spent many years as a self-employed computer consultant.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Eleanor (Meyers) Crump; daughter Kathryn Crump; siblings John Crump, Richard Crump, David Crump, Jean Fleming along with his parents.
Survivors include his current wife Nancy (Wise) Crump; sons Michael (Suzanne) Crump and John Crump; daughter Jeannie (Charles) Wade; grandchildren Andrew (Emily) Essex, Arron Essex, Elise Wade, Kathryn (Colby) Childress, and Robert Tyler Crump; great grandchildren Emily Essex and Zoey Essex; stepson Timothy Wise; stepdaughters, Marilyn (James) Bailey and Kelly Mulvany; step grandchildren, Hayden Wise, Gavin Wise, Thomas (Susan) Shaffer, Katy Shaffer, Amber Bailey, Brittney Mosby, Michael Mulvany and Colin Mulvany; brother in law Jon Fleming; sisters in law Mona Crump and Flo Crump.
As Bob requested, his body has been donated to Indiana University School of Medicine and no services will be held at this time. A memorial service is planned at a later date.
