Julie Ann Stoner
Julie Ann Stoner, age 47, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 after 15 months of battling lung cancer. Julie was born on December 9, 1972 in Garden City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Al and Pat Ohmes. In 1995, she received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics from Kansas State University. That same year, Julie married Marc Stoner, son of Richard and Joyce Stoner. She continued her education and received her PhD in biostatistics from the University of Washington. In 2000, her twin boys, Jack and Ethan were born. After receiving her PhD, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska and worked as an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics for the University of Nebraska Medical Center. In 2002, her daughter Kate was born. In 2007 her and her family moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to pursue a job at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She served as an Associate Professor and later was promoted to Professor and the Department Chair of Biostatistics and Epidemiology.
Julie is survived by her parents: Al and Pat Ohmes; brothers: Robert, Joe, and Andy Ohmes; husband: Marc Stoner; and her children: Jack, Ethan, and Kate Stoner.
The Memorial Service for Julie Stoner’s life will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Edmond, Oklahoma at 10 a.m. For those who will be attending the service please wear a mask.
