Ted Eugene Doyle

ARKANSAS CITY - Ted Eugene Doyle, 91, of Arkansas City, formerly of Garden City, died Saturday (May 9, 2020) at the Presbyterian Manor of Arkansas City. Ted has lovingly donated his body to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research.


Ted was born August 24, 1928, in Coffeyville, to Eugene and Jestie (Howard) Doyle. He was reared and educated in several small towns in southeast Kansas, graduating from Wallace County Community High School. He married Faye Johnson December 18, 1949, at the Christian Church in Lebanon, Kansas. The couple made their home in Leoti before settling in Garden City. Ted worked as a mechanic for Nolan Motors and Schreiber Motors before opening TED Auto Repair. He was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Garden City.


Survivors include his wife Faye of the home; son Marvin and wife Arlene Doyle of Arkansas City; daughter Sandra Schraer of Effingham; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren


He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Frances Phetteplace, a son-in-law Harvey Schraer and granddaughter Brenda Lozano.
