Nils E. Anderson

Nils E. Anderson, age 63, died at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. He was born on February 18, 1957 in Atchison, KS, the son of Carol Nelson and Faye Ellen Beisner Anderson.


Nils attended Russell and Garden City Schools. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He worked at Garden City Community College as the head dishwasher for 25 years. Nils was a member of the Happy Valentines 4-H Club, the Special Olympics, Boy Scouts, and attended summer camp many summers at Camp White of Council Grove, Kansas.


He enjoyed bowling, watching movies, walking the Talley Trail, swimming in the Big Pool, Lee Richardson Zoo, and attending Garden City Community College athletic events. He also loved singing, listening to and conducting music and going to the Kwik Shop for his daily pop. He loved to eat out especially to the Pizza Hut.


Survivors include: mother, Faye Ellen Anderson of Garden City; siblings, Mark Anderson (Susan) of Bellevue,WA, Charles “Chuck” Anderson of Naples, FL, Jerry Anderson (Bennie Young) of Broomfield, Co, Kristin Anderson of Garden City, Four nephews. Matt Anderson of San Francisco, CA, Chris Anderson of New Brunswick, NJ, Zach Anderson of Garden City, Grant Anderson of Chicago, IL; special aunt and uncle, Lou and Rod Hoover of Topeka, KS. He was preceded in death by his father.


Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Garden City Chapter of the Special Olympics or the First United Methodist Church in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St. Garden City, KS 67846.
