Kenneth L. Fyler

SCOTT CITY - Kenneth L. Fyler, age 96, died April 15, 2020 at his home in Scott City. He was born on March 3, 1924 in McCracken, KS, the son of William Haynes and Blanche Elizabeth Folsom Fyler. A resident of Scott City, since 1947 moving from Bison, KS, he was the owner and operator of Dairy Queen since 1948. Kenneth was a US Army Veteran.


On September 27, 1943 he married Vera Alberta Schlegel in Bison, KS. She passed away on October 18, 2008.


Survivors included his three sons, Kenneth Jr. Fyler of Wichita, KS, Michael Fyler of McPherson, KS, Steven Fyler of Scott City; two sisters, Joyce Buchholz of California, Beverly Steitz of Elkhart, KS; 14 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Vera, Two Brothers and One Sister.


Due to the current virus situation, Private Family Graveside services will be held later this week. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City. Memorials In Lieu of Flowers can be made to the Scott County Shrine Club, Scott County VIP Center or the United Methodist Church in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.
