SCOTT CITY - J. Paul Hillery, age 92, died on January 20, 2020 at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City. He was born on July 25, 1927 in Russell Springs, KS, and the son of William H. And Ruby F. Martindale Hillery. Paul was a lifetime resident of Scott City. Paul was a farmer and a US Army Veteran.
On March 26, 1950 he married Pauline Rishel in Wichita County, KS. She passed away April 2, 1998 in Scott City. On September 2, 2000 he married Addie Mae Strickler Collins in Abernathy,TX. She passed away on May 1, 2015 in Scott City.
Survivors include his two sons - Gregory Hillery of Scott City, Larry Hillery of Scott City, one daughter, Marcia Matthies of Scott City, One Brother, Lee Hillery of Oklahoma City, OK, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, one grandson, two brothers, Mark Hillery, and Howard Hillery and two sisters, Wilma Norsworthy and Vivian Chambers.
Funeral services will be held on January 25, 2020 at 10:30 a.m at the Church Of The Nazarene in Scott City, KS. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, KS. Memorials In Lieu of Flowers can be made to the Church Of The Nazarene in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, KS.
