MONTEZUMA — Neva Louise Koehn, 88, died quietly on Nov. 10, 2019, in her room at Bethel Home in Montezuma in the evening hours. She was born on July 9, 1931, to Frank and Hannah Gearig Eicher in Alma, Mich.
Mom grew up on a farm close to Ithaca, Mich., receiving her formal education in a one room schoolhouse a mile south of home. She was baptized as a young teenager in Ithaca.
She was married to me, LeRoy Koehn on Oct. 12, 1958. Two sons and two daughters were born to this union. We enjoyed just over 61 years of happily married life. Due to health complications, we moved to Bethel Home in the summer of 2014.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy of Ingalls; sons, Leonard Koehn of Scotia, Neb., and Doug Koehn of Goltry, Okla.; daughters, Karen Koehn of Pryor, Okla., and Marci Nichols of Hardin, Mont.; brother, Verle Eicher of Montezuma; sister, Janice Koehn of Faunsdale, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Salem Mennonite Church in Copeland. Burial will follow at Salem Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Montezuma from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Home in care of the funeral home.
