SUBLETTE — Gilberto Moreno, 71, died Oct. 24, 2019, at the Satanta District Hospital. He was born on Sept. 13, 1948, in Mexico, the son of Gilberto Lozano and Antonia Moreno.

Gilberto spent his childhood in Mexico. In 1965, he married Juana Lopez in Chihuahua, Mexico. Gilberto and Juana moved to Texas in 1987. He went to work for a county road department, operating a road maintainer. In 2000, the couple moved to Sublette.

He is survived by his wife, Juana Moreno of Sublette; 10 children, Salvador Apodaca and wife Josefa of Sublette, Ramon Apodaca and wife Saturnina of Van Horn, Texas, Manuel Apodaca and wife Elvira of Van Horn, Texas, Leticia Garza and husband Andres of Sublette, Raul Lozano and wife Angelica of Sublette, Sandra Ornelas and husband Ignacio of Sublette, Cecilia Gonzales and husband Cruz of Sublette, Rafael Lozano and wife Patricia of Oklahoma City, Adrian Lozano and wife Arackli of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Norma Estrada and husband Cesar of Sublette; two brothers; two sisters; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at Iglesia Bautista Hispana Church in Sublette. Burial followed at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette. Visitation was Sunday, Oct. 27.
