SCOTT CITY — Delbert E. Jones, 91, died on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at his home in Scott City. He was born on Nov. 25, 1927, in Bigelow, Kan., the son of Earl Oliver and Carrie Arbutis Parmentier Jones.
He was a contractor, city building inspector and a farmer. On Dec. 26, 1948, he married Josephine Marie Beach in Scott City.
Delbert is survived by his wife, Josephine Jones of Scott City; one daughter, Lila Burnett of Scott City; one granddaughter; two brothers, Victor Jones of Waterville, Kan., and Kenneth Jones of Frankfort, Kan.; and one sister, Leona Nelson of Greeley, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Scott City. Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City.
