ULYSSES — Lydia Trujillo, 70, of Ulysses died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita. She was born July 11, 1949, in Raymondville, Texas, to David and Gloria (Gutierrez) Romero.

Lydia grew up in Texas and moved to Ulysses in 1965. She was a homemaker, worked at several restaurants and cleaned for Faulkner Real Estate for many years. On March 17, 1969, Lydia married Joe Trujillo in Texas.

Lydia is survived by her husband, Joe; one son, Joe Trujillo of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Eva Rodriguez of Ulysses and Marina Trujillo of Garden City; three brothers, Enrique Romero, Leobardo Romero and David Romero Jr., all of Ulysses; six sisters, Raquel Gallegos of Ulysses, Maggie Garcia of Ulysses, Grace Hernandez of Ulysses, Minnie Fischer of Ulysses, Norma Pauda of Lakin and Olga Pauda of Ulysses; and eight grandchildren.

Lydia is preceded in death by her parents, David and Gloria Romero, and one brother, Juan Romero.

Evening service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Templo Nueva Vida in Ulysses. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
