TRIBUNE — John Phillip Floyd, 84, died on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at University Of Denver Hospital in Denver. John was born May 11, 1935, in Hutchinson to Richard A. and Verna H. (Stone) Floyd.
A resident of Greeley County since the 1930s, he was a farmer, avid hunter and fisherman, but most importantly, Papa. On Dec. 23, 1963, he married Emma Grace Proctor in Syracuse. Grace died on Sept. 21, 2009, in Hays.
John is survived by two children, Lloyd Patterson Jr. of Rush, Colo., and Penny Graham of Tribune; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Verna Sue Wendt; and three brothers, Howard, I. Floyd II, Edwin D. Floyd and Richard A. Floyd.
At John’s request, cremation has taken place and services will be at a later date. Memorials may be given in John’s memory to the Greeley County Trap Club. Condolences may be sent to the family through the funeral home website at priceandsons.com.
